Before DiC got the rights to Sailor Moon, several companies were looking for a way to launch the Sailor Moon series in America. Enter Toon Makers, a small advertising and animation company. Their idea was to make a whole new series instead of dubbing the anime. This version would be a mix of live action and animation with a whole new plot, but still staring characters loosely based on the Sailor Soldiers. With help form Renaissance Atlantic and Bandai, they made a pilot episode and a small music video to try to sell the series to Toei. The pilot was created in late 1993 and was pointed at Saban in hopes of being picked up for airing on FOX in the fall of 1994. Toei turned it down as dubbing the anime would be way cheaper. 

Plot:  Queen Beryl kidnaps Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn, and seizes their jewels of power. Each of the "Princesses of Power" has her own Jewel of Power and to obtain the ultimate power, Queen Beryl needs the last crystals belonging to Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus and Jupiter. At Sailor Moon and Darian's wedding Queen Beryl crashes her spaceship into the party and attacks everyone. Queen Serenity opens a portal, to send everyone away. She promises to find a way to communicate to them. Just as they leave, Darian is attacked, and the team presume him dead. The battle continues to planet Jupiter, where "a mysterious figure" (Tuxedo Mask) aides them, and then disappears. From here, the series would pick up with everyone on Earth, where a white Luna joins them. All of the girls have something called a sky flyer which is used to fly around space, I think, and a moon cycle used on Earth. They would have to stop Queen Beryl and her Dark Galleon ship.

• The show was live action while the girls were civilians, but animated when they transformed
• Sailor Moon would have been a bubbly blonde.
• Sailor Mercury was a handicapped who likes partying.
• Sailor Mars would have been of Asian background.
